Niching exists to serve you and to serve your ideal client. It’s really built out of sacred reciprocity and connection.
What does Mattering Equally have to do with getting confidence and results? I remember many years ago hearing something like this…
You matter at much as anyone else. Not more, not less, but the same amount.
And I remember thinking, of course I matter?!?! I get my hair done, nails, girl, look these shoes…
BUT, what I didn’t understand then (but I do now) is when someone else was involved… I often put their needs first – making them matter more than me (I call this micro giving).
From my kids, to my boss, to the random person in the check out line…and that all these micro givings built up over time, leaving me feeling empty, worn out, and exhausted.
But how can something as nice as giving feel so bad?
Look, it’s not that giving is “bad”, it’s just that we were trained as women to give, give and give some more- and feel guilty or shameful if we don’t. But this is not the dark ages anymore. We gotta change the script and give to ourselves too!!
The crazy thing about starting to really give back to yourself is that it gives you the energy, boundaries and capacity to get things done you couldn’t before. And because you are taking better care of yourself, you can really show up and take care of others in a way you couldn’t have in the past. It’s so nuts!! It’s a win – win for everyone!!
So use this TRICK this week to start to step fully into MATTERING TO YOURSELF:
We all know the Golden Rule – Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
One TRICK is to flip that around – same meaning – but feels a whole lot different:
Do unto yourself
as you would do unto others.
And repeat after me…YOU MATTER.
